Mr. Charles Richard Overby, age 89, of Bremen passed away Monday, December 10, 2012. Mr. Overby was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on July 24, 1923. He was the son of the late Guy and Gertrude Burd Overby. Mr. Overby was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II in the 82nd Airborne as a parachutist and was retired from General Motors Lakewood Assembly plant. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Pat Overby.

Survivors include his wife, Louette Alderman Overby of Bremen; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Kenny McLeod of Kingwood, TX, Kathy and Greg Carl of Carrollton; Kim and John Godwin of Buchanan and Lissa and John Barrett of Bremen; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Dianne Overby of Bremen; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday, December 14, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Minister Chad Dollahite and Minister Ron Alderman officiating. Music will be under the direction of Ron Alderman.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.
