Mr. Charles David Johnston, 87, of Bremen, Georgia died March 29, 2016.  Charles was born in Griffin, Georgia on November 21, 1928.  He was the son of the late John Thomas and the late Ethie Howard Johnston.

Charles was a 1952 graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a retired industrial tool salesman, assistant sales manager and executive officer and with his company for forty two years.  He was Chairman of the Board of Kelly's Chapel United Methodist Church during a building and expansion program and president of Glenwood Hills Athletic Association for many years.  He was a veteran and served in Korea.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Nancy; son Johnny (Jean) of Greenville, SC; daughter, Debbie Davis of Bremen; son Chuck (Alice) of Jonesboro, GA; and son Kent (Kelly) of Bremen; five grandsons; five granddaughters; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service of remembrance will be held at one o'clock on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Pristine Chapel, 7541 Mt. Zion Blvd., Jonesboro, GA.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations be made to Charles favorite cause: The Friends of the Carrollton Green Belt, 529 Newnan St., Suite B, Carrollton, GA  30117.
