IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Michael
Hope
August 4, 1953 – October 2, 2024
Charles Michael Hope of Townsend Georgia, 71, gained his wings and entered heaven Wednesday, October 2, 2024, surrounded by love with his precious family at his side. Mike, as he was called and known, entered the world August 4, 1953, in Chatham County, Georgia, the Son of the late Charles Walter "CW." Hope and Frances Carolyn "Betty" Wallace Hope.
Mike was the third of his parents seven children and to know him, was to love him. Mike always made a friend with a personality that could command a room, full of life, stories, and wisdom only he could share, which he did so well. Mike's love of life was always known, and he loved to play pranks and a was a jokester to his family and friends. He was a jack of many trades; one was as a welder, though the river and the waters of South Georgia were where he enjoyed working the most; he was a commercial cast-netter and master of shrimping. He loved the water and would happily be considered a "river-rat," a trait that was natural to him. He enjoyed running from the DNR and giving them a good chase and appreciated the beauties of the nature and special habitat he was around; watching the deer, birds and the nature that surrounded him. His hobbies and loves were simple.
In 1976, Mike's world and the greatest accomplishments in life began when he met Rosemary Ellis. Through their love and everlasting friendship came five girls: two sets of twins! The first set, Christy and Michelle Hope were born and passed in 1977, yet in 1982 they'd have a daughter named Heather, and in 1985, a second set of twins, Kimberly and Emily. Mike's greatest love was his family, and being a Daddy to the "girls" and later as a Grandpa, yet called by all "D-Daddy" with love and affection. His greatest enjoyment was sharing his love of life, adventure, nature, the simplicity of life and his stories filled with wisdom, knowledge with his Daughters and his Grandchildren, as well as his family and friends.
In precedence to Mike's passing, besides his parents and first set of twins, were his siblings Alton "Jake" Hope, Lynn Hope, Joyce Farr, and Ralph Hope. Mike's surviving family are Daughters and Sons-in-Laws, Heather (Miguel )Majors of Carrollton Georgia, Kimberly Hope of Carrollton Georgia, and Emily (Rick) Green, of Townsend Georgia. Grandchildren; Katie and Heath Phillips, Christy Cross, Shelby Rewis, Stanley Cross, Michael Rewis, Donie Parrish, Levi Parrish, and Gabriel Rewis. Siblings Henderson and Julianne Hope, and Dedra Hope, all of Townsend, Georgia, and Mother to his dear daughters and lifelong friend, Rosemary Ellis of Carrollton, Georgia. Adopted Brother and best friend, Johnny and Sandy Parrett of Villa Rica Georgia. Mike also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends whom all loved him dearly.
In accordance with Mike's wishes, he was cremated, and a graveside service will be conducted November 16, 2024, at 11 :00 am at Morgan's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Townsend, Georgia. The Hope family wishes to extend their heartfelt love and appreciation to Georgia Hospice Care and Empyrean Hospice for all of their help during this time. Mike was one of the good guys in the world and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory is honored to serve the cremation needs of the Hope family.
