Mr. Charles Lawrence Ellis, 57, of 7000 Bankhead Hwy., Douglasville passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Mr. Ellis was born in Cyahoga County, Ohio on March 29, 1952. He was the son of the late Reece Ellis and the late Monica Briggs Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a truck driver and was an accomplished builder of custom cars and hot rods. Survivors include his wife, Jerri Kessler Ellis of Douglasville; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann and Kevin Brannan of Villa Rica; one son and daughter-in-law, Bud and Blayne Ellis of McDonough; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda "Toot" and Barry Higginbotham of Bremen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Mable Ellis of Sevierville, TN and Winford and Teresa Ellis of Seveirville, TN; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Kay Kessler of Snellville; four grandchildren, Wesley Brannan, Kaitlyn Brannan, Chas Ellis and Rhett Ellis; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
