Mr. Charles William Arnett, age 88, of Carrollton passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011. Mr. Arnett was born in Hope, Arkansas on October 11, 1922. He was the son of the late Lemuel A. Arnett and the late Katie Aysom Arnett. Mr. Arnett was retired from the United States Army serving in World War II and in Korea and also from the Civil Service for a combined total of 47 years service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Ann McClard Arnett, his "earth angel"; three sisters and one brother. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Dr. Thomas Lamb of Carrollton; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles William, Jr. and Jane Arnett of Carrollton; six grandchildren, Tim Lamb, Tammy Purvis, Dr. Laura Larson, Jennifer Lamb, Timothy Arnett and Michale Arnett; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from the Graveside with full military honors at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery with Father Rafael Carbollo officiating. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
