Mrs. Celia "Tillie" Swann Monroe, age 77, of 178 Mountain View Rd., Buchanan passed away Thursday, May 9, 2007. Mrs. Monroe was born in Haralson County on October 4, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Terrell Swann and the late Nonnie Mae Costley Swann. Mrs. Monroe was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Monroe.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Wade of Buchanan and Gloria Frisbee of Fairhope, AL; two sons, Clyde H. Monroe of Fairhope, AL and Bobby R. Monroe of Evergreen, CO; one sister, Aline Shoemaker of Buchanan and Joe Swann of Jackson; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from the Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Hamrick and Danny Hutcheson officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Craig Monroe, Jason Hamrick, Shannon Monroe, Corey Bolden, Solon Phipps, David Jackson.
