Cathy McElroy Keller, age 73 of Bremen, passed away of heart complications on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at a local hospital. Born in Bowdon, GA, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Chandler and the late Clyde McElroy.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Barney Keller, a brother, Clyde Wilburn McElroy, sister-in-law, Sandra McElroy, and nephew, Jeff McElroy.

Cathy grew up in Heflin, AL.  After graduating from Cleburne County High School, she moved to Atlanta, where she worked in banking.  Later, she came back to Heflin and then to Bremen, where she worked in the newspaper industry for three different companies across Alabama and Georgia.  She resided in Bremen until her death.  Cathy loved her animals unconditionally and treated them as her children.  She was loved deeply by her family and friends.

Cathy is survived by her brother, Tommy McElroy; her niece Rene' (Fred) Gutierrez; two great nephews, Zack (Brandy) Gutierrez and Brandon (Hannah) Gutierrez; one great great nephew, Grayson, and two great great nieces, Lyzah and Izla Guitirrez.

The family will host a private service for Cathy at a later date.
