Mrs. Carol Ann Pollard Welchel, age 73, of Buchanan passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013.  Mrs. Welchel was born in Haralson County on January 28, 1940.  She was the daughter of the late Johnny Eugene Pollard and the late Ola Mae Hartley Pollard.  Mrs. Pollard was retired form Arrow Shirt Company.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Welchel; and two brothers, J.E. Pollard and Delmer Pollard.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Thurman Brown of Bremen; one son, Micheal E. Welchel of Buchanan; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Melear of Buchanan and Sandra and Carlos Wade of Bremen; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Melvin and Sandra Pollard, Donald Pollard and Sammy Pollard all of Buchanan; three grandchildren, Olivia Welchel, Timmy Brown and Gene Brown; seven great grandchildren, Kaci Brown, Kyle Brown, Halee Brown, Brianna Brown, Maleya Brown, Haven Brown and Righley Rudisel; one great great grandchild, Kamden Brown; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 28, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Layton and Rev. Buddy Gentry officiating.  Music will be rendered by Kyle Brown and Rev. Buddy Gentry.  Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jimmy Harper, Edward Pollard, Chris Williams, Roy Mann, Steve Miller and Carlos Wade.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M.until 9:00 P.M.
