Carol Goodson Fowler died peacefully March 6, 2013, in Atlanta, Georgia surrounded by her family. She was born October 26, 1932 to the late James Clyde Goodson and Sarah Hall Goodson.

Carol, a native of Atlanta, was a graduate of North Fulton High School where she was Senior Class Vice President, a member of the National Honor Society and the yearbook staff. She attended Georgia State University before becoming an independent insurance agent, her lifelong career. She retired in 1992 to the north Georgia mountains of Big Canoe, and eventually to a family home in Dublin, Georgia.

An avid bridge player, a gardening enthusiast, and an accomplished seamstress, Carol was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was involved in many volunteer church, school and community activities throughout her life. She was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as Correspondence Secretary and Assistant Treasurer for the Laurens County Chapter.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Clyde Deariso Fowler, and their three children, Catherine Fowler Dickerson (Bruce), James Clyde Fowler (Carol), and Diane Fowler Rodriguez (John).

She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Christopher and James Wojcik, Sarah, Kate and Caroline Fowler, Lucy Rodriguez, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Dublin, Georgia, Saturday March 16 at 2:00 p.m.
