Mr. Carl Shane Worthy, age 45, of Buchanan passed away Monday, January 18, 2016.  Mr. Worthy was born in Carrollton, Georgia on May 14, 1970.  He was the son of the late Carl Worthy and the late Elizabeth Morris Worthy.  Mr. Worthy was self-employed as a building contractor.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lawana Gunter.

Survivors include his wife, Angel Harper Worthy of Buchanan; one daughter, Emily Paige Harper of Buchanan; two sons, Carl Benjamin Worthy, II and Jake Wade Harper both of Buchanan; two sisters, Kathy Worthy of Tallapoosa and Robin Robinson of Buchanan; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from Baptist Tabernacle Church with Rev. Joey Meeks and Rev. Charles Worthy officiating.  Music will be rendered by Josh Worthy, Ben Worthy and Jon Harper.  Interment will be private.

Mr. Worthy's remains will lie in state at the Church Thursday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
