Calvin Earl Boyd, age 81 of Muscadine, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026, after a lengthy illness.  Born in Lepanto, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Bill Boyd and the late Minerva Harvey Boyd.  In addition to his parents, Calvin is preceded in death by his sister, Bertha Harper.

Calvin proudly served in the United States Army during the 1960's.  Upon returning to Tallapoosa, he began working at the Western Auto with Ray Hitchcock. In the mid 1980's, he purchased the store and owned it for several years.  Calvin and Margaret moved to Biloxi, Mississippi, in the 1990's where he was the superintendent for Pelican Kay condominium complex for 25 years.  During his tenure there, he helped many people and also found enjoyment in visiting the casino.  Calvin never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 61 years, Margaret Mullins Boyd; his daughter and son-in-law, Paula & Chris Swann of Tallapoosa; and his precious grandchildren: Kristen (Colton) Johnson of Muscadine, Heather (Kyle) Gosselin of Bedford, Massachusetts, Johnathan (Ashley) Post of Buchanan, Eric (Darrell) Swann of Helfin, and Brittany Swann of Heflin.  Also surviving are his great-grandchildren: Kellan, Beau, Kynstin, Braxton, Johnathan Jr; his sister-in-law, Betty (Al) Rhodes; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A memorial service for Calvin Boyd will be conducted on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Shane Wade officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
