Brenda Tyson

Mrs. Brenda Lee Cantrell Tyson, age 64 of Carrollton, passed away at home on Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.  Brenda was born on November 13, 1961, in Marietta, Georgia to the late Herbert Cantrell and the late Jesse Lousie Smith Cantrell.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Wanda Rogers.

Mrs. Brenda retired from Walmart after 20 years, where she made lots of life-long friendships.  She dearly enjoyed spending her time with her family.  Brenda was married for 48 years to her soulmate, Randy.  She attended Carrollton Congregational Holiness Church.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Tyson, Sr. of Carrollton; her three children: her son, Randy Tyson, Jr of Carrollton, her daughter, Misty and Donnie Pruiett of Carrollton; and by her bonus son, John and Holli Thomas of Alabama.  She is also survived by her sisters, Deborah and John McCord of Temple, Marilyn and Eddie Harper of Carrollton, and Rena Cantrell of South Carolina; her precious grandchildren: Lucas Tyson, Randell Tyson, Nora Pruiett, Marian Thomas, Blake Thomas, Dawn Golden, and Kinley Pruiett; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will host a memorial service at the Carrollton Congregational Holiness Church with Pastor Benji Mill officiating and Chris Jiles speaking.  The date will be announced later.

Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan
