Brenda Frances Hogan Smith, age 64 of Tallapoosa, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 23, 2025.  Born in Miami, Florida, on August 6, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Betty Hogan.  In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Smith; her brother-in-law, Thomas Castillo; and a niece, Ashley Perala.

Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, who loved her family fiercely.  She worked for many years as a clerk and enjoyed meeting people. Traveling was her favorite pastime.  Brenda visited New York and Hawaii, cruised to the Bahamas, and enjoyed spending hours on the Florida beaches.  She will be dearly missed by her those who loved her and her special fur-baby, Harley.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, April Johnson of Piedmont, AL and her son, Billy Milian; and her siblings: Mitch Hogan of Tallapoosa, Marsha Castillo of Oxford, AL, Patricia (Donn) Perala of Sebastian, FL, and Jeff Hogan of Waco. Also surviving are her precious grandchildren: Madison Kilgore of Tallapoosa, and Scott Weldon, of Fruithurst; her great-grandchildren: Kylee Tumlin, Kash Kilgore, and Karson Hogan;  her nephews: Kerry Houck of Oxford, AL, Chris (Brooke) Castillo of Bend, OR, Anthony Hogan and Brian Hogan of Alabama, Clayton Hogan of Waco, Daniel Hogan of Tallapoosa, and Corey Perala of Sebastian, FL.

In keeping with Brenda's wishes, she will be cremated.
