Mr. Bobby "Gerald" Jones, age 56 of Rockmart, entered into his heavenly rest on Saturday, March 19, 2022, after a tremendous fight against his failing health.  He was born in Villa Rica, GA, on September 9, 1965, to Melvin Jones and the late Mary Harrell Jones.  In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his brothers J.J. Jones and Randy Jones.

As a master carpenter, Gerald enjoyed building and fixing things.  He also loved animals and the outdoors, most notably horseback riding, hunting and fishing.  His passion, though, was his family.  He loved spending time with his family, telling jokes, and making everyone laugh.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Janice Tolbert Jones, Rockmart; his son, Randy (Lesha) Priest, Rockmart; his daughters, Kristy (Nathan) Swanson, Rockmart; Nikki Jones, Rockmart; and Kayla (Will Jennings) Jones, Buchanan; and his precious grandchildren: Cole Priest, Ava Priest, Kassidy Swanson, Presley Swanson, Trent Swanson, Ryder Swanson, Brayden Jones, Jayleigh Jones, and Addison Jennings.  Also surviving are his father, Melvin Jones, Rockmart; his sisters, Frances (Cliff) Brown, Bremen; Wanda (Eddie) Browning, Buchanan; and Brenda Jones, Bremen. as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Jones will be conducted on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Shane Wade officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
