Bobby Joe Edwards

Bobby Joe Edwards, age 69 of Temple, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Born on July 11, 1957, he was the son of the late Billie Ross Edwards, Sr. and the late Maggie Mae Tidwell. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Marie Edwards; a brother, Billie Ross Edwards, Jr. and his sister, Linda Dale Durham.

A country boy at heart, Bobby found enjoyment in listening to bluegrass music and being outdoors around the horses.  He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and could spend hours watching tv.  Bobby loved his family dearly and will be missed deeply by them and all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Dessie Faye Thompson Edwards; his children, Amanda Faye Edwards of Bremen, Robby Joseph Edwards, Sr. of Temple, and Jessica Starr Edwards of Bremen; his sisters, Brenda Gail Ploof of Kinder, LA, and Donna Marie Watkins of Gadsden, AL; his  brother, Richard Paul Edwards of Temple; and his precious grandchildren, Victoria Wheeler, Kayla Marie Edwards, Robby Joseph Edwards, Jr., Emmaleigh Edwards, Jakob Zane Sexton, Summer Breeze Sexton and Isabella Claire Sexton; one great grandchild, Oakley, and a number of other relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services for Bobby Edwards will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Jonathan Goldin officiating. Interment will follow in the Draketown Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
