Billy James Vines, age 82 of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Born on June 14, 1943, in Ball Ground, Georgia, he was the son of the late Jessie M. Vines and the late Estelle Beatenbough Vines. In addition to his parents Billy is preceded in death by his wife, Sherbert Nails Vines, his daughter, Deborah Coats, and sisters,  Agnes Hagin, Bessie Brown, Ruby Patterson and Lola Sullivan, and his brothers, Clyde Vines and William Vines.

Rev. Vines was an ordained Baptist minister.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.  Billy was also a skilled carpenter who enjoyed working with his hands.  His greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, James M. (Susan) Vines of Cedartown; sister, Brenda Holly of Wetumka, AL; grandchildren, Isaac Coats and Matthew Coats and several other relatives and friends.

In keeping with Billy's wishes he will be cremated.

The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis,

Cremation entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
