Mrs. Betty Jean Posey Ezzell, age 85,of Buchanan passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016.  Mrs. Ezzell was born in Buchanan, Georgia, on January 11, 1931.  She was the daughter of the late Marshall Edward Posey and the late Hattie Pearl Whisenhant Posey.  Mrs. Ezzell was retired from Arrow Shirt Company where she worked as an inspector.  She loved her family very much and enjoyed "looking after them."  Her kitchen was her domain and she enjoyed cooking.  She also enjoyed gardening.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gerald Ezzell; two sisters, Louise Dean and Janelle Rice; three brothers, Roger Posey, Adrian Posey and Foster Posey.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Rick Denson of Douglasville; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Ann Ezzell of Wedowee, AL; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Velda and Harold Philpot and Nelda Caples all of Buchanan; one grandchild, Christopher Denson of Athens; two step-grandchildren, Vanessa Thomas of Bowdon and Lucretia Gibbs of Ranburne, AL; six step-great grandchildren; eight step-great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Dr. Aaron Johnson, Dr. John Pennington and Danny Hutcheson officiating.  Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Rick Denson, Christopher Denson, Dr. Craig Philpot, David Rice, Greg Poteet and Pete Ewing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
