Mrs. Betty Bishop Bennett, age 87, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017.  Mrs. Bennett was born in Haralson County, Georgia, on October 10 1930.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hezekiah and Mary Vessie Garner Bishop; husband, Edward Bennett; five brothers, George Bishop, Horace Bishop, Charles Bishop, Walter Bishop and Kenneth Bishop.

Survivors include three step children; two brothers, William T. (Betty) Bishop of Buchanan and Joseph Homer (Martha) Bishop of Bremen; one sister, Lorene Heath of Buchanan and one sister-in-law Juantia Bishop of Atlanta and several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM with reverend Jeff Bishop officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery.
