Mrs. Bertha Cheatwood Osmer, age 88, of Buchanan passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Mrs. Osmer was born in Polk County on July 15, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Frank Cheatwood and the late Vera Addison Miller. Mrs. Osmer was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rena Osmer; one sister, Evelyn Chandler; three brothers, Clarence Miller, Junior Miller and Daniel Miller; and three grandchildren, Ricky Osmer, Cary Mallette and Scott Gentry.

Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Joyce Gentry of Buchanan, Faye and James Sheriff of Rockmart, Kathy and Stevie Leatherwood of Bremen and Debbie and Dennis Smith of Cedartown; five sisters, Annie Ruth Hammock of Felton, Clara Osborne of Walterboro, SC, Hazel Chandler of Buchanan, Nellie Bowen of Felton and Elaine Smith of Tallapoosa; three brothers, Horace Miller, Noble Miller and William Miller all of Buchanan; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Danny Hutcheson officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
