Obituary

Mr. Benjamin Franklin "Jake" Hobbs, age 78, of 565 Roy Dean Rd., Buchanan passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009. Mr. Hobbs was born in Haralson County on July 2, 1930. He was the son of the late Benjamin Caldwell Hobbs and the late Vera Eaves Hobbs. Mr. Hobbs as a retired contract with H.E. Hennigh Company. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Ed Buchli of Marietta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy and Debbie Hobbs of Buchanan and Lanny and Linda Hobbs of Villa Rica; one sister, Clora Dutton; one brother, Chalmus Hobbs; five grandchildren, Stephanie Hartley, Steven Stephens, Rachel Buchli, Margo Buchli and Jason Hobbs; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be conducted Monday, March 30, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Buddy Gentry and Ed Buchli officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, the body was cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
