Mrs. Barbara Carolyn Rowell Clay, age 74, of Buchanan, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020. She was born on January 19, 1946 in Rockmart to the late A.O. Rowell and the late Claudia Thornton Rowell. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, Charles Rowell.

Survivors include her husband, Loyd Eugene Clay of Buchanan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda (Mickey) Simpson of Bremen and Tanya (Jeremy) Dukes of Buchanan; four grandchildren and their spouses, Brett (Taylor) Smith, Brandi (Ryan) Underwood, Bryant (Gracie) Dukes and Ben Simpson; five great grandchildren, Austin Eubanks, Waylon Smith, Wyatt Smith, Micah Eubanks and Cashton Underwood; two sisters, Elizabeth Irey of Bremen and Patricia Baker of Ranger, GA; one brother, Richard Rowell of Buchanan and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 27, 2020 from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel at 2:00PM with Brother Bobby Rowell officiating. Interment will follow in Brannon-Perryman cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Brett Smith, Waylon Smith, Bryant Dukes, Ben Simpson, Ryan Underwood and Billy Rowell. The following will be honorary pallbearers, Austin Eubanks, Wyatt Smith, Micah Eubanks and Cashton Underwood.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
