Mr. Arthur Lavone Harvell, age 87, of Buchanan passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011. Mr. Harvell was born in Tallahassee, Florida on September 22, 1923. He was the son of the late Henry Harvell and the late Annie Yawn Harvell. Mr. Harvell was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and was a retired brick mason. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Beanie Green and Louise Yawn; and two brothers, Roscoe Harvell and George Harvell. Survivors include his wife, Marion Conroy Harvell of Buchanan; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Crystal Harvell of Dallas, Billy Harvell of Buchanan and Danny Harvell of Buchanan; one sister, Ann Stout of Tallahassee, FL; one brother, Henry Harvell of Smith, PA; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randy Rooks and Mr. Billy Harvell officiating. In keeping with the wishes of Mr. Harvell, following the funeral his remains will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
