Mr. Arlin Roscoe Ewing, age 86, of 22 Seabreeze Lake Rd., Buchanan passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Mr. Ewing was born in Haralson County on January 9, 1922. He was the son of the late Tom Ewing and the late Odessa Mann Ewing. Mr. Ewing was a U.S. Military Veteran and was a retired Bank Examiner with the United States Comptroller of the Currency. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Smith Ewing; and one sister, Ruth Griswold. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Jody Waddle of Bremen and Susan and Al Moore of Buford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Heather Ewing of Buchanan and Pete and Karen Ewing of Rockmart; six grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from Buchanan United Methodist Church with Danny Hutcheson and Rev. Randy Rooks officiating. Music will be rendered by Kersha Cartwright and Melissa Littlefield accompanied by Beleta Anderson. Interment will follow in the Buchanan Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Amos Sparks, Perry Littlefield, Mitchell Garner, Jim Chesser, Joe Griffith and Tom Griswold. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
