Mr. Albert J. Carroll, age 84, of Temple passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011. Mr. Carroll was born in Bibb County, Alabama on March 19, 1927. He was the son of the late Frank and Jennie Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and was a retired carpenter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gerald David Carroll. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Bobby Houston of Temple and Judy and Joey Holcombe of Summerville; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Ray Carroll of Temple, Tim Carroll of Temple, Mark and Joyce Carroll of Bessemer, AL and Wayne Carroll of Temple; two step-daughters, Lynn Abercrombie of Temple and Maria Abercrombie of Temple; one step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Johnny and Kendra Abercrombie of Temple; two sisters, Pauline Stone of Woodbury and Christine Smith of Alabama; and a number of grandchildren; great grandchildren; and other relatives. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from the Oak Hill Church of God of Prophecy with Brother Larry Keaton officiating. Music will be rendered by Richard Harrell, Dewayne Maner and Brother Larry Keaton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Following the visitation the body will be cremated. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
