Alan James Brannon, age 63 of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025.  Born in Bremen, Georgia, on July 10, 1962, he was the only son of the late Milton James Brannon and the late Dorothy Mae Crawford Brannon.

A 1980 graduate of Haralson County High School, Alan continued his education at West Central Technical College in welding.  Always a hard worker, he began his own trucking company at a young age.  He was a long haul truck driver for 42 years and traveled the United States.  Alan was an avid outdoorsman, he loved farming his land.  Every year he spent hours in his vegetable garden, growing some of the best vegetables around.  Alan was a simple country boy who loved his family dearly and will be truly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mary Neese Brannon; his daughters, Alana Brannon of Marianna, FL, and Christy & Brandon Garner of Felton; his grandson, Brent Coppock; and great-grandchildren, Anna Coppock.  Also surviving is his only sister, Teresa Brannon of Carrollton; his mother-in-law, Sally Ploof of Buchanan; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa & Jimmy Key of Bremen; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Alan Brannon will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November13, 2025, at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Reverend Richard Brannon and Reverend Danny Tucker officiating. Alan will be laid to rest at the Brannon-Perryman Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Sammy Smith, Mike Smith, John Dobbs, David "Doc" Christian, Ben Wood, Hal Wood, and Mark Moore.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
