Mr. Willie Eugene (Gene) Laney, age 66, of Carrollton passed away Monday, November 13, 2017. Mr. Laney was born in Bowdon on January 4, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Buford and Ima Dell Hyatt Laney; wife, Margie Bentley Laney; one daughter, Christy Faulkner and five brothers, Connie Laney, Tommy Laney, Maxie Laney, Davis Laney and Johnny Snow.
Survivors include one daughter Tammy West of Carrollton one step-son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Susan Harris of Mesa, Arizona; one sister, Betty (Ray) Myers of Bowdon; one sister-in-law, Geneva Whitaker of Carrollton; two brothers Billy Ray Laney of Carrollton and Steve Laney of Bowdon; niece Sandra Scarborough and a number of other relatives.
Graveside memorial services will be conducted Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2PM from Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Carrollton, GA. For further information contact Sandra 470-865-1944.
In keeping with Mr. Laney’s wishes he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the funeral home.
