Ms. Sarah Lee Ayers Wood, age 89, of Bremen passed away Friday, October 27, 2017. Ms. Wood was born in Buchanan, Georgia, on February 6, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Lowell Iverson Ayers and the late Delcie Kelly Ayers. Ms. Wood was a retired LPN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Hope Smith; one sister, Brenda Nappi; one brother, James Denton Ayers; and one grandchild, Chris Watkins.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Gail and Donald Stitcher of Temple, Becky Bradbury of Heflin, AL, and Laura and Walter Kirk of Bremen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Joe and Marian Ayers, and Lowell and Shirley Ayers all of Buchanan; eight grandchildren, Eric and his wife Sonya Watkins, Wendy Hardin, Bo and his wife Nikki Bradbury, Ben and his wife Angie Bradbury, Zachary and his wife Christie Smith, Luke and his wife Danielle Smith, and Leslie Kirk; seven great grandchildren, Megan Myers, Jenna Fitzgerald, Gabe Watkins, Julia Young, Ella Bradbury, Mera Bradbury and Isaac Smith; one great great grandchildren, Luke Fitzgerald; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wood will be conducted on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Dr. Allen Wilburn offficiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers: Eric Watkins, Eddie Ayers, Luke Smith, Zachary Smith, Mark Ayers and Pete Nappy.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
