Raymond Murray Smith

Mr. Raymond Murray Smith, age 63, of Moreland formerly of Tallapoosa passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017.  Mr. Smith was born in Tallapoosa, Georgia, on April 20, 1954.  He was the son of the late Raymond Cecil Smith and the late Jessie Smith.  Mr. Smith was a graduate of Haralson County High School and was a graduate of Auburn University with degrees in Animal and Dairy Science and in Entomology.  He was self-employed as a concrete finisher.  Mr. Smith was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Tami Smith of Panama City, FL; three daughters and one son-in-law, Amber Smith of Jacksonville, AL, Brooke and Craig Davis of Tallapoosa, and Lily Smith of Panama City, FL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcia and John Callaway of Hogansville, and Melissa and Stanley McCain of Bremen; four grandchildren, Chessney Ellis, Griff Lee Davis, Danner Davis and Damon Murray Smith; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Stanley McCain, Tom Roberts, Sonny Grayson and Wes Pope officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
