Melvin Pollard

Mr. Melvin Pollard, age 74, of Buchanan passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018.  Mr. Pollard was born in Buchanan, Georgia on May 2, 1944.  He was the son of the late Johnny Eugene Pollard and Ola Mae Hartley Pollard. Besides his parents he is preceeded in death by his wife Sandra Pollard; one sister, Carol Welchel; three brothers, Delmer Pollard, Johnny Eugene “Snuffy” Pollard and Donald L. Pollard. 

Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Ann Eggleston of Bremen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marlon Lee and Amanda Pollard of Newborn and Edward and Tabitha Pollard of Buchanan; two sisters Magaline “Mag” Melear of Buchanan and Sandra Wade of Bremen; one brother, Samuel Pollard of Buchanan; ten grandchildren, Christopher Tadman , Nicholas Tadman and Samantha Chambers all of Elkhart, IN, Tyler Tadman of Battlecreek, MI, Michael Jansen Peek of Milen, GA, Amanda Caitlin Peek of Washington State, Adam Pollard and Andrew Pollard of Newborn, Wyatt Pollard and Tiffany Pollard of Buchanan.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with Dr. Mason Bush and Richard Brannon officiating.   Interment will follow in Tallapoosa East Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Wyatt Pollard, Adam Pollard, Andrew Pollard, Danny Pollard, Thurman Brown and Charles Folsom. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Mathis and William Miller. Mr. Pollard will lie in state at the Church Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.

The family will receive friends at Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
