Mary Alice (Balser) Lett

Mrs. Mary Alice Balser Lett, age 84, of Buchanan passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on Monday, May 7, 1934. Mrs. Lett was the daughter of the late Henry Balser and the late Minnie Hester Massey Balser. Besides her parents, Mrs. Lett is preceded in death by one brother Blaine Balser.

Survivors include her husband Robert Eugene Lett of Buchanan; one daughter and son-in-law, Diana Johns Humpherys and Paul of South Carolina; six sons and daughters-in-law, Darius David and Joyce Johns of Florida, Kenneth Lloyd and Joy Johns of North Carolina, Roger Dewane and Susan Johns of Ohio, William Henry and Lori Johns, Denver Robert and Laura Lett of Atlanta and Justin McClung and Brandy Lett of South Carolina; one sister, Juanita Basler Thomas of Maryland; one brother and sister-in-law Henry Balser, Jr. and Phyllis of Virginia; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM from Mount Zion East Baptist Church with Reverend Kenny Teal officiating. Music will be rendered by brother Buddy Gentry. Mrs. Lett will lie in state from 1 PM until 2 PM.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
