Mrs. Lillian Ploof Dean, age 90, of Bremen, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019. She was born in Haralson County on Sunday, September 2, 1928. Mrs. Dean is the daughter of the late Sam Ploof and the late Eva Mae Redding Ploof. Besides her parents, Mrs. Dean is preceded in death by her husband Leroy T. Dean; four brothers, Ernest Ploof, Billy Ploof, J.P. Ploof and Doyle Ploof; two sisters, Jo Ann Sims and Lucille Kilgore. She retired from Sewell Manufacturing after 45 years of service.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Alfred Cole and Jackie and Keith Brown; one sister and brothers-in-law, Jean (Ray) Harrison and Billy Sims; three grandchildren, Jamie Brown, Taylor Key and Shane Cole; two great grandchildren, Wesley Cole, Katie Mae Key and a number of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. from Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church in Bremen with Reverend Jason Owens officiating. Eulogies will be rendered by Jamie Brown, Nikki Smith, Linda Lumpkin, John Entrekin and Eddie Hulsey. Music will be provided by Bonnie Sanders and Eddie Hulsey.
Mrs. Dean will lie in state at the church prior to the service from 2:00PM until the funeral hour.
Interment will follow in Pineywoods Cemetery in Buchanan with Reverend Wendell Rush officiating and the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Eddie Hulsey, Shane Cole, Bo Cook, Chris Cohran, Eric Sanders and Chris Keaton. Honorary pallbearers are Hattie Ruth Vaughn, Linda Lumpkin and Deborah Whitton.
