Jewel Elizabeth (Vaughn) Ward

Mrs. Jewel Elizabeth Vaughn Ward, age 88 of Tallapoosa, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018. She was born on January 1, 1930 to the late James Vaughn and Adrain Dodd Vaughn. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands Curtis N. Gaines and Marlin Ward; one daughter, Janice Marie Ellis; two grandchildren, Nicholas Robert Green and James Robert Green; two sisters, Louise Moore, Peggy Welsh and two brothers, James Vaughn and Jerry (Lonnie) Vaughn.

Survivors include three daughters, Bernetta Gaines Davis of Tallapoosa, Patricia and JP Mann of Tallapoosa and Barbara Green of Tallapoosa; two sisters, Linda and Terry Stair of Heflin, AL and Joyce and Joe Bill Conkle of Micaville, AL; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM Georgia time from Faith Baptist Church on Highway 78 in Tallapoosa with Reverend Grover Robinson officiating. She will lie in state from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Music will be rendered by Grover and Marie Robinson with the piano played by Tawanna Gibson.

Interment will follow in Muscadine Community Cemetery with the following gentleman serving as pallbearers: Barry Conkle, Howard Crumpton, Andrew Stanley, Avery Stanley, Chad Hulsey, Jag Garvin, Brent Addison and Jason Thrower. Honoary pallbearers will be Alex Calain, Carson Brown, Canton Brown, Waylon Brown, Joshua Neal, Zachary Neal and Rylan Wideman.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM.
