Mrs. Gaylia Brown Garren, age 65, of Buchanan passed away peacefully at her residence Monday, January 22, 2018. Mrs. Garren was born in Bremen, Georgia, on February 13, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Rufus S. Brown and the late Zera Mae Kirk Brown. Mrs. Garren was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Glenda Brown Caldwell.
Survivors include her husband, Greg Garren of Buchanan; two daughters and one son-in-law, Robyn and John Downing of Bremen, and Bethany Garner of Carrollton; one sister, Wanda Stanley of Buchanan; four grandchildren, Walkyr Johnson, Chase Garner, Jodee Garner and Kinsley Seale; two nephews, Josh Stanely and Jamie (Shannon) Caldwell; one great nephew, Gabriel Caldwell; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. from Bremen City Cemetery with Danny Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow in Bremen City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Mike Stephenson, Heath Johnson, Josh Stanley, Chase Garner, Jamie Caldwell and John Downing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
