Betty Jean (Spearman) Carroll

Mrs. Betty Jean Spearman Carroll, age 84, of Buchanan passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  Mrs. Carroll was born in Buchanan, Georgia, on September 24, 1932.  She was the daughter of the late John Palmer Spearman and the late Clevadell Jones Spearman.  Mrs. Carroll, along with her husband, owned and operated Carroll Auto Parts and Wrecker Service in Buchanan for many years.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howard Carroll; and one sister, Shirley Addison.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Polly and Donald Hopkins of Adairsville, Barbara Carroll of Buchanan, and Carol and Wayne Terrell of Carrollton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Don Cox, and Danny and Adonis Carroll all of Buchanan; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, June and Kenneth Williams of Tallapoosa, Diane and Jose Wys of Panama City, FL, Esther Roberts of Cedartown, Janice and Donnie Bonner of Woodstock, and Debbie and Bill Harrison of Powder Springs; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Elaine Spearman of South Carolina, and Kenneth and Jo Ann Spearman of Bremen; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a number of relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mary Lou Gilbert and Danny Hutcheson officiating.  Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Adrian Terrell, Russell Terrell, Wayne Terrell, Kade Turner and Lee Carroll.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
