William David Eaves, age 72 of Rockmart, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. He was born on January 11, 1952, to the late William Taylor "Dub" Eaves and the late Edna Tharon Thomas Eaves Lammons. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Proctor Eaves; brothers, Dennis Thomas and Doyle Lammons; step father, Gordon Lammons and niece, Denna Raiford.
After graduating Haralson County High School in 1970, David served our country in the United States Army and then furthered his education receiving an Associates Degree. As an expert iron worker, he proudly worked as a welder on many Atlanta skyscrapers. In his leisure time, David enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing the guitar. His passion was his family and a was loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Amy Eaves Sims and Jeremy of Rockmart and Anna Eaves Rieffel and Erik of Stuart, FL; his brother and sisters-in-law, John "Bo" Eaves and Jean of Draketown and Brenda Thomas of Rockmart; and grandchildren, Adrianna, Kristen-Brooke, Noah, Jacob, Samuel, Jonah, David, Abbi and Alli. Also surviving are four great grandchildren; nephew, Mason Raiford; nieces, Megan (Johnny) Sutton and Misti (Tim) Pike, and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for David Eaves will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 11, 2024, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Terry Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Draketown Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Mason Raiford, Noah Rieffel, Jacob Rieffel, Samuel Rieffel, Jonah Rieffel, and David Rieffel; and honorary pallbearers: Bill Thomas, Lee Raiford, David Luker, James Johnson, Kenny Johnson, and Greg Garner.
The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour.
