Myra Jo (Payton) Pendleton

Myra Jo Payton Pendleton, age 72 of Smyrna, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, in a local hospital.  Born in Haralson County on September 16, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Cecil Payton and the late Fannie Pearl Head Payton.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Payton and Shelma Payton, and her brothers, Kenneth Payton and Tommy Payton.  

Myra loved her family and enjoyed hosting dinners and family get-togethers.  Being outdoors fishing, gardening or birdwatching were her some of her favorite pastimes.  She has a zest for life and enjoyed playing cards and gambling.  Before her health declined, she worked cleaning houses and enjoyed the camaraderie with her clients.

Left to cherish her memories are her companion of 30 years Johnny Greene of Smyrna; her sons, David Pendleton of Montana, Rodney Pendleton of Villa Rica, and Jeffery Burrows of Kennesaw; her sisters, Linda Horwatt of Roanoke, VA, Deborah Brandenburg of Austell, and Becky Payton of Auburn, GA; and her brothers Robert Payton of Independence, MO, and Pat Payton of Loganville.  Also surviving are her precious grandchildren: Allyson Pendleton, Zackery Pendleton, Chloe Platero, Gus Surechief and Hayley Surechief, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In accordance with the family's wishes, Myra Pendleton will be cremated.
