Margie Posey Jannelle Carroll

Margie Janelle Posey Carroll, age 59 of Buchanan, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023.  Born in Fulton County on June 28, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Roger Linton Posey and the late Margie Christine Shepard Posey.  In addition to her parents, Margie is preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Posey and two brothers, Linton Posey and Gerald Posey.  

Margie was a graduate of Russell High School.  She had worked for several years as a travel agent.  Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes, as well as making jewelry and going to the beach.  Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters Nikki Nyland and Alexia Nyland both of Atlanta; her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Laura Nyland of Woodstock; her husband, Leon Carroll of Buchanan; her sister and brother-in-law, Cathy Posey and Jonathan Cox of Dublin; and her brother, Paul Posey of Buchanan.  

A celebration of life for Margie Posey Carroll will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 2, 2023, from Mt. View Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Shirley officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service hour.  Interment in the Mt. View Church Cemetery will follow at a later date.
