Jonathan "Dave" Davis Owens

Mr. Jonathan Davis "Dave" Owens, age 54 of Whitesburg, passed away, Friday, October 8, 2021, in a local hospital after a valiant fight with Covid.  He was  born on February 9, 1967, in West Palm Beach, FL, to the late Vernelle Grantham Owens and the late Jack Melton Owens.  

Dave had a great sense of humor and enjoyed sharing that humor at family gatherings.  He was an avid golfer and fisherman, however, his most notable fishing occurred on the mission field for Jesus.  He loved his family dearly and was a great Pawpaw.  Dave was a faithful member of the Kansas Baptist Church and a U.S. veteran having served in the Navy. He was the owner/operator of West Georgia Intermobile.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Cindy Williams Owens of Whitesburg; his daughters, Ashley Owens (Paul) Skinner of Whitesburg; Lydia Ann Freeze of Whitesburg; Amber Owens (Nick) Sitze of Florida; Hannah Leigh Freeze of Carrollton; and Anna Haley Owens of Whitesburg; his precious grandchild, Easton Mae Skinner; and his fur child, Daisy Mae.  Also surviving are his sister, Nora (Bruce) Paul of Macon; brothers, Larry (Carole) Owens of Florida, and Rocky Hudson of Savannah; his mother-in-law, Martha Williams of Douglasville; and a number nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family will host a celebration of Dave's life on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 3:00 pm at Kansas Baptist Church in Waco, GA.  Officiating this homegoing will be Rev. John Lemming and Rev. Ricky Rayburn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cindy Owens to help with Dave's final expenses and may be sent to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel, PO Box 491, Buchanan, GA 30113.
