Obituary
Bertha Estelle Davenport Harris, age 84, of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023. She was born on May 2, 1938, to the late J.K. Davenport and Gertrude Swafford Davenport. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George Loman Harris, two brothers, Johnny Davenport and Jimmy Davenport, and one sister, Nellie Lankford.
Bertha enjoyed reading, sewing, and cooking, especially when she could use every dish she had in the process. She was active in her home church, Baptist Tabernacle, and enjoyed spending time with and travelling with the Haralson County Seniors.
Her survivors include her daughter, Malinda Johnston of Buchanan; son, Mike Harris of Buchanan and one sister, Barbara Smith of Lilburn.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from Baptist Tabernacle at 1:00 PM with Reverend Joey Meeks officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Buchanan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 12:00 Noon until the service hour.
