Anna Lea Hendrick Chaffin, age 50, of Bremen passed away surrounded by her loving family at her “home” on Old Newnan Road in Carrollton on March 24, 2020. Anna was born on November 1, 1969 in Carrollton. She graduated Haralson County High School in 1988. She attended Truett-McConnell College as well as West Georgia Technical College.
Anna (“Annie” to her mother) led an active and busy life. She handled the many challenges that life presented to her well. She was a happy, kind, courageous, caring and sharing person, and these traits were obvious during her almost 20 year career in law enforcement, which she loved. She served most recently as a deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Anna was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Bethany Baptist Church, both of Tallapoosa.
Anna will be missed but not forgotten. As one of God’s angels she is now happy and at peace enjoying her well deserved eternal rest.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Patricia Bailey Stevenson and Dr. Ed Stevenson of Carrollton; her father Johnny Wadell Chaffin of Wedowee; daughters Elle Brittain of Rockmart and Madison Brittain of Bremen; sisters and their spouses, Amy (Candi) Chaffin of Tallapoosa, and Keri Stevenson (Ken Myers) of Albuquerque, NM; brothers and their spouses, Wes (Paige) Chaffin of Rome, Wade (Shannon) Chaffin of Tallapoosa, and Jon (Mariah) Stevenson of Manassas, VA; paternal grandmother Hattie Gentry of Tallapoosa; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.
Anna wishes all of us to honor the roll her law enforcement colleagues have in keeping us safe.
