Marion Ladell Holcombe

Marion Ladell Holcombe, age 69 of Rome, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, in a Rome hospital.  Born in Douglasville, GA, on March 25, 1954, he was the son of the late Cornelious Ladell Holcombe and the late Lula Mae Shedd Holcombe.  In addition to his parents, Marion is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Barry Treadwell and Ray Robinson, and a nephew, Chris Robinson.

An avid baseball fan, Marion enjoyed living in Rome and attending the Rome Braves baseball games.  He also enjoyed listening to the different types of music at the many downtown concerts.  The beach was his favorite vacation spot.  Marion had a big loving family and was Baptist by faith.

Left to cherish his memories are his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jerrie and Jack McEween of Buchanan, Phyllis and Rick Pointer of Rockmart, and Tracy and David Wright of Rockmart; his six nieces and nephews, and number great nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

In accordance with Marion's wishes, he will be cremated.  His family is planning a Celebration of Life for Marion at a later date.
