Joseph "Joey" Lane, age 47, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Born in Dallas, Georgia, he was the son of the late Wanda Sue Harrell Harper. In addition to his mother, Joey is preceded in death by a brother, Ian Harper; grandparents, Myrtle Lewis, Annette Harper, Gordon Lewis, and Fred Harrell; a great-niece, Ryleigh Howard; and great-nephews, Wesson Lane and Hayden Lane.
Joey worked in construction, but he truly wanted to be a cowboy. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed horseback riding, playing horseshoes, and having a good time. Listening to music was another favorite pastime for Joey.
Survivors include his children: Lillia Lane, Gracie Lane, Stella Sue Lane, Bailey Lane, Gabriel Lane, Lawsen Lane, and Chandler Lane; his wife, Tiffany Campbell Lane; his sister, Cynthia (Joe) Rowell; brothers, Timothy (Stephanie) Lane and Joh (Alecia) Harper; and his step-father, Donnie Harper. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Amelia and Elizabeth Lane, and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services for Joey Lane will be conducted Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 5:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Nathan Worthy officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
Interment will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Hills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, GA. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Nathan Lane, Nickolas Lane, Bailey Lane, Timothy Lane, Jon Harper, and Josh Anders.
