Doris Callahan Obituary

Doris Louise Young Callahan, age 74 of Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2024, in a local hospital. Born on January 25, 1950, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edwin Young and the late Ruth Johnson Young. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her sisters Coreene Hankins and Mary Ruth Young and her brother Thomas Young.

Living on a dirt road out in the country, Doris had rescued many abandoned animals and nursed them back to health. She especially loved the cats and worked diligently to find them good homes. Doris had a big heart and had a passion for taking care of her family, and she adored her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, James Michael Callahan, her daughter, Lynn Wynn, and her son, Jon Cody McDowell. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Brooke, Nicole, and Noel; several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and other family members and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, Doris will be cremated.
