Anthony "Tony" Francis Walsh, III

Anthony "Tony" Francis Walsh, III, age 80 of Rockmart, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024. He was born on March 28, 1943, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to the late Anthony Francis Walsh, Jr. and the late Mary Catherine Gallagher Walsh. In addition to his parents, Tony is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Deborah Boylan.

Tony proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965-1967.  After his honorable discharge from the Army, he entered Law Enforcement and retired after 25 years of dedicated service.  Most of his law enforcement career was working in Maryland with the Juvenile Offenders Division.  In his leisure time, Tony enjoyed fishing and woodworking.  He was a master craftsman at woodworking and built beautiful birdhouses and hope chests for others to enjoy.  Tony loved his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  

Survivors include his wife Kathy Bange Walsh of Rockmart; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Chris Daniel of Temple; and son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Katie Walsh of Plano, TX.  Also surviving are his sisters, Patricia Ann Raleigh of Chesapeake Beach, VA, and Miriam Elizabeth Bernardi of Poconos, PA; and his precious grandchildren, Mary Daniel, Darian Daniel, Shelby Daniel, Gracie Daniel, Kevin Walsh and Brianna Walsh; great grandson, Luke Daniel and several other relatives and friends. 

In keeping with Tony's wishes he was cremated.

Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
